I had some free time after a shoot out in Harrison Hot Springs last week so on the journey back to Vancouver I decided to make the drive up to Cascade Falls just outside of Mission, BC. It’s really a beautiful drive, lots of rolling hills with mountains in the distance. Tons of greens especially with Spring season in full swing.
After a windy 12km road that’s actually in pretty good shape considering the winter we’ve had, I arrived at the park entrance. It’s a short but steep trail up to the falls and once you’re at the top you get a great viewing platform that looks out over the falls and canyon below.
There is also a small suspension bridge that leads to an additional viewing platform closer to the falls.
After taking a ton of long exposure shots of the falls I decided to take a hike further up the logging road next to the trail. If you follow it for another kilometre or so you’ll find another trail that leads to the river above the falls. The river was pretty rough with all the snow melt but it looks like a beautiful spot to hang out all day in the summer time.
