San Gimignano, Italy is a small walled medieval hillside village located just outside of Florence. San Gimignano is also known as the Town of Fine Towers as it boasts several towers that can be seen from afar. After perusing the small streets and corridors I stood in awe at the many different buildings featuring Romanesque and Gothic Architecture. This town is definitely worth a visit even just for a few hours.
Although highly touristed there are a few areas to escape for some piece and quiet. One of them is the top of the bell tower where I took this photo. A small 5 Euro entry fee and 150 steps gets you to the top with incredible panoramic views.
